School Description:

New Public School was made by lady the Late S.H. Singh. Making a great school like an education temple is a dream of her. The school helps the children’s to grow their knowledge and character. The main motive of NPS is to develop the overall personality of the student and active participation in co-curricular activities at the State levels and the National Levels.

The ex-student of this school which was studying in the year 1985 is now became a commissioned in the Indian Army. The school owns the Inter School Championship in the year 1997 in Basketball Match. The School is also concentrated on making the new generation good human beings and responsible citizens. NPS students donate funds and necessity items for the jawans during the Chinese aggression in 1962 and the Pak invasion in 1965 and 1971 respectively.

Hostel:

New Public School Chandigarh is a part of a hostel. Visiting hours for parents is between 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on second week only. Parents may see their own students during visiting hours only. No child comes out of the class during teaching hours. Principal timing is between 9.00a.m. To 11.00a.m. On working days.

Hostel Fee is payable in two installments: 1st installment due on 1st April. 2nd installment due on 1st September. For payment of each installment a time period of 30 days is allowed after which penalty @ 5% per month shall be charged on the due amount. If any parents are interested to withdraw their child from the Hostel at the end of the Academic year, they should submit their application for withdrawal latest by 1st March; otherwise the amount of the security shall be charged.

Curriculum:

• The school provides CBSE based curriculum.

• The medium of instruction is English. Hindi and Punjabi are taught as compulsory subjects.

• The school offers Medical, Non-Medical and Commerce streams for study to students of class XI and XII.

• Education carried is with the help of audio-visual aids.

• At the Pre Primary Level the curriculum is based on Play-way method based on latest innovations of teaching. Classrooms are well equipped with Educational Charts, Toys, and Posters etc.

School Uniform:

The New Public School is consisting of Blazers, jerseys and ties are to be worn during the winter. Students of class VI and above are wearing House T-shirts for sports activities.
