CBSE was founded in the year November 3, 1962 for public and private schools by the Union Government of India. CBSE has 8 regional offices in different states and cities. In India all Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are affiliated to CBSE. The Board conducts exams for X and XII known as All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) and for undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture the board conduct AIEEE exam. The Board also conduct exams for medical colleges called AIPMT (All India Pre medical Test). The Board has achieved an excellent result from the beginning and now in 2012 around 80 % of the students have cleared the CBSE exam.
