The performance of this year CAT students is some what better than the previous year. A test for entry into the IIM's and other top B-schools is going up. In 2011 was the figure was 56,050 which has been increase to 60,876 in 2012.

After the cat result came out at early morning 3am on 9th of Saturday most of the student is search for 2012 toppers. For your kind information this year their are 10 students who have got 100 percentile score. Eight of these students with the perfect scores come from IITs and five of the ten students are still doing their graduation.

Four girls have scored 99.99 percentile, highest score for this year amongst girls. These four girls, engineering students in their final year are from Karnataka, Orissa, Delhi and UP. In all 255 girls and 1640 boys scored more than 99 percentile.

"CAT 2012 is significant as there is an increase in registrations, first time after moving to a computer based testing platform. The growth in registrations is all encompassing - cutting across the categories and gender. The number of girls registering and appearing for the test showed a considerable uptrend. This development might be seen as a response to the gender diversity in classrooms being sought by most. In addition, candidates from lesser privileged sections of the society are also registering in increasing numbers and are also excelling in the test," says Debashis Chatterjee, director, IIM Kozhikode.

In all a total of 191,642 candidates appeared in the 21-day long testing window from 11 October to 6 November 2012.

In terms of city wise performance, Mumbai has the highest 99 percentile scorers at 180 students followed by Delhi (168), Bangalore (157), Hyderabad (105), Kolkata (92) and Chennai (85).
